What Was I THINKING When I Decided To Build A SBI Website?!

Hi, there! My name is Karen. I have a wonderful loving (and patient) husband, Ray and a beautiful special daughter named Lori. We share our home with our four legged children, Cody, Mischief and Gator. We have a modest lakefront home in Florida with beautiful breezes from the lake.

I was not planning on building a website when I discovered the Site Build It! website. I was planning a book about eating healthy. I knew nothing about web building. In fact, I was totally terrified about having to maintain a site if I had someone ELSE build one. I had no clue how to maintain the free site that I did have (not that it got any traffic anyway.) I can barely open e-mail! ;-D

Ray and I are Realtors® and as Realtors® we are independent contractors. Real estate, as a profession, has been very good to us. We have been able to accumulate investment properties and raise our net worth.

Enter the Real Estate Boom and ensuing Bubble Burst.

As long as our tenants pay their rents—something that is increasingly difficult for some of them in these tough economic times—we should be able to pay all the mortgages. We have tightened our belts along with everyone else.

My Story

I have long wanted to share my (health) story and recipes with people other than my colleagues at work and family. I also wanted to produce an alternate stream of income, hence, the book idea.

I believe in the power of a positive mindset to bring the riches you wish to create. The operative word here is create. You can produce anything you wish if you do it on a creative and not a competitive plane.

Wallace Wattles wrote in “The Science of Getting Rich”, “You are to become a creator, not a competitor. You are going to get what you want, but in such a way that when you get it every other person whom you affect will have more than he has now.”

Creating, in the form of writing, is what I love to do. SBI! Is the perfect, affordable outlet for me and a way of producing an alternative stream of income by doing something I love to do.
