Happiness is Healthy

No one will deny that happiness is a healthy thing. If you are not truly happy you cannot be truly healthy in body and mind.

The pursuit of happiness is guaranteed in the US Constitution. It doesn’t assure happiness, just the pursuit of it!

If you are suffering from debilitating medical conditions that cause you pain and discomfort you probably feel you have the right to be unhappy. You do have a choice.

The condition of your life, your mood, your physical condition, your finances are all due to choices that you have made. If you are unhappy with any of these conditions then it is time to make choices to change them.

The Pitbull of Personal Development® and host of the television show Big Spender Larry Winget says, “your success is your own damn fault!” That is true of every success in your life, not just financial success.

Albert Schweitzer said “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”

You can attain the health, happiness and wealth that you desire. The rate at which you do this is directly determined by your desire and your determination to do so.

What do you need to do to put your life into a happier, healthier balance?

Do you have medical issues? Are you a fully compliant patient who blindly follows your doctor’s instructions? Are you getting better? Is your practitioner treating the problem or simply masking the symptoms?

Many doctors simply treat the symptoms and never bother trying to find the cause of the symptoms. Pharmaceutical companies have a drug for every symptom, real or imagined. Sometimes they just make up symptoms and spend millions trying to convince us that they have the solution to the problem.

Listen closely to the disclaimers. The side effects are almost always worse than the symptoms, thereby insuring that you will have to get more meds to control the side effects….

But I digress. We were talking about happiness. It is essential to good health.

Have you done research of your own? Do you question why they are prescribing whatever treatment they are prescribing? If your health is not improving maybe it’s time to ask the hard questions. If you’re not happy with the answers it might be time to find a new practitioner.

You are in charge of your health. You are in charge of your happiness. You are in charge of your financial condition. Only you can fix anything that is not right in your world!

No one can make you angry. No one can make you sad. No one can make you happy. YOU decide these emotions yourself. To feel any of these emotions you must allow it to happen. It’s a choice.

Wayne Dyer said “Your opinion of me is none of my business.” Remember that next time someone says something you consider hurtful.

Think that one over. I had to read it three or four times before I “got it”.

Wattles again, “Every individual has the natural and inherent power to think what he wants to think, but it requires far more effort to do so than it does to think thoughts which are suggested by appearances.”

Things are not always as they appear. Every person perceives things differently. Perceptions are as diverse as belly buttons!

Happiness is essential to health but how do we become happy if we perceive nothing but misery?

You must change your perceptions!

Let’s start with forgiveness.

First: forgive yourself. Have you made a major or minor mistake along the way. Don’t beat yourself up over it. Get over it. If you can fix it, fix it. If you can’t, move on. Forgive yourself and resolve to do better in the future. Learn from your mistake.

Mark Twain said “A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval”.

If you learn from your mistake it becomes a positive experience, a learning experience. I believe it was Mark Twain who said “Good judgment comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgment.”

Second: Now that you have forgiven yourself think about all the people you perceive have hurt you, whether real or imagined. Are you still holding a grudge? Several grudges? How the heck can you be happy holding all that cancer inside you? That is what hate is. It is a cancer! It will eat you up!

I’ve read so many wonderful books that I am not sure who said “Holding a grudge is like drinking rat poison and waiting for the rat to die”

Third: Gratitude

Gratitude is an attitude!

A grateful person is a positive person. A positive person starts and ends each day with a deep gratitude for all the wonderful things in his/her life.

Can’t think of any? Strain your brain a little. Sit down with paper and pencil and list every good thing in your life. Some people keep a journal. Positive grateful people are able to manifest amazing things into their lives.

I used to wake up angry in the morning and had no idea why! It's a bad state to start your day that way.

Now I wake up in the morning grateful for another healthy day and just know that it will be a good day.

At the end of the day I thank God for all the miracles that happened this day. Every day is a miracle!

With the right attitude you can manifest health, happiness and, yes, even wealth!
